I've been pretty busy as of late, which is really making me look forward to summer. Luckily, things haven't been all about class work and my job though. Here's what's been going on with me.
College: I'm doing pretty well so far, and the countdown to finals is well underway, which means I've got plenty of class work to do and take care of, especially in my U.S. History class. It will also be my main concern when finals roll around, but at least it won't be an essay final which gives me a sigh of relief.
Work: It's been kinda light in customers at Game Crazy with a several busy days as of late when a couple of big games got released, and that's going to be how it will be like since the summer lull in game releases is fast approaching. Not only that, E3 is almost here and everyone at work, including me, is looking forward to hearing what's coming up on the horizon.
Other things: First off, I ran into a bit of TV trouble for the past few weeks as my TV got hit by and electrical problem that made it unusable, but thanks to my folks, it's been replaced so I'm thankful for that especially since the problem was going to cost quite a bit to fix. Also, I've been gaming quite a bit more on the PC as of late as well, especially since I got Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead, so if you've got a Steam account, feel free to send gamer_wolf a friend add. Lastly, I'm really looking forward to being at the FurBQ this weekend, along with Califur in a little over three weeks as well, staying with my mate for both events.
Well, that's about it for what's been going on with me. I promise I'll try to keep my journal a bit more active everyone.

busy
Unfortunatly it hasn't been a whole lot, mostly work and my classes, which are both doing well. Work was pretty busy the past few weeks with several big game releases coming out, but with those done, I expect things will start to calm down a bit. As for my classes, I gotta admit my Art Appreciation course is a pleasant surprise as to how much I'm learning about the history of art and it's types. I have to say I'm glad I chose to take this to put units into one of the required class areas for me. U.S. history is going well, and Intro to Photoshop is working out great, I'm glad I finally get to learn how to use this program since I know it can do quite a bit.
That's pretty much it for what's been going on in my life, hope everything is going well for you all.

Yep, tomorrow is the start of the spring semester, with me taking Art Appreciation on Mondays, Intro to Photoshop on Tuesdays and History of the US from 1877 to the present online. I glad I can finally take the first Photoshop course and I'm looking forward to seeing what Art Appreciation will be like, though that course won't be happening until next week.
As for how I'm doing, I'm doing alright even though work's been busy as of late. I forgot that becides the holiday months, big game releases also happen in the late winter/early spring and the 18th is the Street Fighter 4 release day, so I can bet the store will be very busy.
Other than that, not a whole lot is happening in my life right now, which is kinda good and bad at the same time.

As this week starts to finish up, I've discovered something.
Air conditioners just love to break down at the worst times.
Yeah, the air conditioner at Game Crazy broke down last weekend so it's been pretty crappy in there lately, despite having three fans running in there at max.
Anyways, things are going good for me right now, nothing much to report though I have found out that my family's annual summer vacation trip to Vegas will be happening sometime during the last week of August, mainly because there's been a little trouble with finding a place for one of our pets to stay because of his temperament ever since our house got broken into 2 years ago.
Also, here's a funny clip from Japan that adds further proof that crane games are rigged. Enjoy!

First off, Happy Birthday
zalno! Hope you're having a great day today!
Now, as for my first day at Game Crazy, it went pretty well. Did have a problem with the two TV's that hang from the ceiling and show trailers in the store when they weren't showing anything except static, and I volunteered to climb up a ladder to see what the problem was since I've had plenty experience with TV problems thanks to my old TV that I got rid of last year. Turns out one of the TV's AV cables became loose so I plugged those back in. As for the other, the AV cables went bad so they'll have to be replaced. Other than that, I'm glad to not have to take almost constant complaints about severely scratched DVD's anymore, though I know there will still be other complaints. You just can't get away from them.

Yep, today was my last day working for them and next week on Tuesday I start my new job over at Game Crazy, so tomorrow I'll just be relaxing. I'll admit, I will miss the place a little since I spent a little over 2 years there, but I'm still glad to have gotten out of there.
Other than that, nothing much else going on. I'm doing well so far in my classes this semester, though I have made a mental note that mid-terms are coming up in less than 3 weeks, so I'm taking lots of notes so I don't miss anything when I have to study for them. I've also been trying to clear as many of the challenges in Brawl that I can, saving the golden hammers for the ones i know I can't beat, though from what I heard any of the challenges involving beating something on intense difficulty are actually immune to the golden hammer, so that kind of sucks.

I got the call from Game Crazy not too long ago saying that I got the job (woohoo!), and after asking a few questions about the job that were brought up in my last job related post (thanks
weirdedsel), I'm confidently saying that I'm taking it so tomorrow I'm giving my two weeks notice to my manager at Blockbuster. It's going to be great to finally get out of there.
In other news, I also checked up on my reservation of Super Smash Bros. Brawl to make sure my reservation didn't get lost in the computer (I've had the reservation since September, when the release date was December 3rd) and it's still there, so I'll be getting it on Sunday and putting up my friend code here and on a LJ group called
ssbb_furs as well.
Also, I'm really liking the theme for FC 2009 that has been announced. I'm looking forward to what will be done with the "Surf Safari" theme.

The interview I had over at Game Crazy went great, and the manager said that I'm very likely to get a call back sometime next week confirming me getting hired over there! Man, I'm looking forward to getting out of Blockbuster once and for all, though I can't help but find a little irony in that I'm going to work at a game store that's linked with Hollywood Video.
As for other things, there isn't much else. I had my first class in Physical Geography which was alright, and I'm downloading Big Blue Fox's FC08 video right now so I'll be watching that as soon as it's done.

Just got a call from Game Crazy saying they want to interview me for a position tomorrow at 2 pm, so it's time go through the interview process again. I'll have to remind myself to take a few deep breaths to keep myself calm before the interview.

nervous
First off, haven't heard anything from Best Buy yet, but my fingers are still crossed for that and also for getting an interview at Target or Game Crazy just in case. As soon as something happens on the job front, I'll let you guys know first.
Second, I picked up Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS over the weekend and I'm liking it so far, though I'm still getting used to only using the stylus to move Link and use his sword instead of using the control pad and pressing one of the buttons for the sword like in the other handheld Zelda games. Still, it is more interactive with you having to blow into the mic to blow out candles and yell into the mic at a few points as well.
Lastly, I now have Skype installed on my computer so if anyone wants to chat via Skype, my Skype name is gamer_wolf (just like how my LJ username is done).

Well, had the interview today and did my best to stay calm through it. I made sure to mention CARE+ and knowing about Product Service Plans (Again, thank you for the info Feros!) and I think the whole thing went pretty well, despite the fact that I did accidentally stumble on one word during it. I didn't get immediately hired though, so I'll hopefully get a call from them soon.
In the meantime, I'll be sending two more applications later on this week to Target and to Game Crazy and see if anything happens with those.

Don't worry, there's no drama from the bad news.
The good news is that I have an interview at Best Buy tomorrow after my shift at Blockbuster, so hopefully I'll be able to get a job there. The bad news, however, is that I get really nervous at interviews. It's not as bad to make me stumble on some of the words I say, but I do get the "deep pit in my stomach" feeling and I tense up a bit. I guess it's because I feel a bit of pressure on me to say the right things in order to hopefully get the job.
I'm starting to think I should maybe replace my Intermediate Frontpage class with one of the Speech Communication courses my college has to maybe help with this.

Today I had my vacation time that I requested to go to FC 2008 given the green light by my manager, so another of what I thought to be major obstacles for my first furry con is gone. All that's left is to make sure I bring a good amount of money (I've got about $400 saved up and I'm hoping to bring that up further but who knows with Christmas coming up soon).
Also, as a side note, I took a quick look at my calender and realized that finals are almost a month away.
Crap.
