Just saw Beowulf...

and I can say is, wow. I'll admit that I was skeptical of this movie at first, especially since a maze was done for this movie at this year's Knott's Halloween Haunt and it was done very well, with the big surprise of the maze being the dragon at the end that blew smoke at you. The reason why I was skeptical was that the same thing for Grudge 2 was done last year and even though the maze was done well, the movie was a total bomb, so I was thinking it was going to be another over-hype victim. I'm glad to say that it's not.

The story's good (though I don't know the whole Beowulf legend fully), but the most jaw-dropping thing about this movie was with the animation, capturing the actors likenesses perfectly. You can see a bit of the animation style in the commercials, but I think to fully see how good they did this movie, you have to see it in the theater.

I definitely think that this movie may have set a new bar for realistic animation.
